Special offer

Laugh? Cry?

By

I sent an offer on a vacant, listed short sale to the listing agent 12/7/2008 a Monday.  The "owner" had been out of the house for months and hadn't paid his mortgage for months before that.

The listing agent could not get a returned phone call or any other response.  She felt the offer was acceptable or close to it.  On Friday the property went to the courthouse steps without her knowledge and is now owned by WAMU.  She has not been able to get any kind of response until the present time (1/12/2009)

I spoke to the listing agent Friday the 9th and she said there was still no response from Wamu to her calls.  However, she told me, the ex owner had recently received a call from Wamu offering to modify the loan!

Getting angry just shortens your own life so I hope we all thank the banks for generously making themselves the objects of our ridicule and providing a welcome break in our stressful lives.

I say cry, these banks and all their different departments don't talk to each other and because of it everyone seems to lose.

P.S. - I'm including this in my wrap up for congress on Short Sale nightmares.

I know that you posted this a few months ago, but it is so telling of the way the system works. Unfortunately, I'd lay much of the blame here on the listing agent (and some on WaMu, of course).

Cry and don't even worry about who to blame.  All team players are to blame for this one.

Hey, here it is January 2011 and the banks are still self righteous, spoiled and stupid. Wells Fargo, Bank of America....all the larger banks. They could make life easier for America but they sit like fat toad frogs on a lily pad.

Banks:

First...give loan modifications.

Second...close quicker on the offers you have now.
