CHANGE.GOV - SPEAK OUT, SPEAK NOW!

As the Inaguration of President Elect Barack Obama quickly approaches, Americans know that we face an incredibly challenging future. To say that Mr. Obama has taken on the troubles of the world is an understatement. Now here’s something interesting: The Obama Transition Team is actually asking us, you & me, to give our suggestions and tell our stories. They actually want to hear our ideas to help solve the problems we face.

I spent some time looking through the suggestions of a lot of people on Change.gov just to see if the site would be filled with cynical, angry commentary. On the contrary, there are a lot of thoughtful and concerned Americans who have some excellent, creative ideas. Why don’t you add yours to the list?

Hi James,

Creating any "critical thinking" for the world to think about is progress for the world to hear!   If we never "challenge" our country's leaders, they start to think their power is superior and "stop" listening to the people and then the "big businesses" have the ear of the country's leaders.  Creating suggestions and stories, gives visual stimulation to our leaders that "our world needs to change" due to our now Global Economics.

Always challenge our leaders to EXCELLENCE!!!   ;>)

Ann-Marie - Anyone who spends time in the blogosphere knows that there are a lot of intelligent, well-meaning people out there "on-the-ground" who have ideas and solutions to our national challenges. Unfortunately, for so long now, we've been living in an intellectual/idealogical cul-de-sac. This last administration set a new low in terms of genuine leadership. I have a sense that Americans have forgotten what real leadership looks like. My most sincere hope is that the new administration will change all that for the better. Thanks for commenting on my blog!

Thanks James for the information. I will pass this on to my staff. I hope they are truly interested in listening to the real people.

Hi Richard - Well, I haven't felt as if anyone in charge has been listening to anyone for many years now. I believe we are at the forefront of a new age of communication and public awareness. Perhaps this will "trickle-up" to our new leadership. Thanks for writing.

Who was it that originally said if the people lead, eventually the leaders will follow? I agree that we have an opportunity to really make a difference. If we do not take advantage of it we will have no one to blame but ourselves.  Given the chance, we must try to build a system that actually works.
