Ice Ice Go away!

By

I am located about an hour north of Little Rock, Arkansas.  We were at the edge of the ice storm that hit Arkansas the last couple of days.  My daughter had to go to school both days and schools all around us were closing.  We did not get hit that bad.

I had to drive to a foreclosure property that was having rehab done to it and needed to take pictures of the work that was completed.  The property is about 25 miles west of Searcy and you could see a big difference in the weather and conditions there.  The roads had spot ice and I have included some pictures to show the rest.  I had to drive down a gravel road and the roads were frozen over with accumulated ice where there were culverts under the road.

It is suppose to thaw out today and everything back to normal, at least for us.  Northern Arkansas was hit real bad.  I have two children at ASU in Jonesboro and my son had electricity and my daughter lives in the dorms and their electricity was out until about noon Wednesday.

I'm personally ready for spring.... We have had more snow that normal.  We do need the moisture but snow in the mountain and rain in the valleys covers it.....

Burr ... looks really bad.  Got lightly touched in N. Texas area but it was enough to shut schools down for the day.  You know how Texans are, can't handle the snow and ice well.  Thanks for sharing the photos!

Those are really great pictures. But they do come at a cost as you have noted in your blog. Stay warm and off the roads

I hate ice from when I lived up north.  We are fortunate to live in Atlanta where I've only witnessed 1 ice storm since 1992.

Larry, we got hit yesterday with an ice storm. Fortunately, we didn't lose power or have any major problems. This morning my driveway and subdivision is still iced up. It does make for nice photos though.

I live in Ohio and we got slammed with snow and ice.  Some people were lucky enough to get "just" snow (about a foot)  in northern Ohio but unfortunately we got both.  We lost electric for 5 hours but it is now back on.  We were lucky in that regard because my dad lives a little further South than me and he is going on 24 hours without power and he sees no light at the end of the tunnel as he says "there are downed power lines everywhere....looks like he might be a week before he gets electric.

I feel sorry for anyone that had to venture out in this storm.

Thanks for the comments!  Everyone try to stay warm.  Just think, every day we deal with winter, we are one day closer to spring. YES!

I'm still without power. Have been told it could be several days. Thank goodness for my generator.
