2009 is starting off great in my market area, Riverview, Ruskin, Gibsonton, Apollo Beach & Sun City Florida. Over 206 homes have gone contract and 109 homes have closed since Jan 1, 2009. Mortgage rates are helping drive these sales as well as low home prices. Based on whats happening in January, I would say the rest of 2009 should be great. I'm Happy!

Jennifer, I just made a post on this renewed activity too. Austin, TX is bubbling. We had a stagnant period as 2008 ended but an uptick is definitely happening. I just saw your Gov on Fox News. He said Florida was up 25% in unit sales in December over Dec. 2007.

In Texas - the market seems to be getting better as well. We have our ranch and our second home on the market and between September and December not one call - In January alone at least 10 showings with high interest and most are pre-qualified.
2009 is looking mighty good here too!
