Hey Folks!

While catching up on some emails I have the TV on in the background. Not paying much attention buy one thing leads to another and all of a sudden Saturday Night Live is playing.

This is a show I grew up with. Some good seasons and some not so good. Tonight Steve Martin is the guest host for his 15 time. By the look of it I guess 14 may have been his cap.

I am not sure if my comediy taste has changed or if show is no longer funny. Whay do you think. I am siding with the show is no longer funny.

Thanks for reading and I will be looking forward to your comments.

LOL!  I thought about writing a post about this as well.  I watched it for about 5 minutes, then looked elsewhere for entertainment.

The show has lost some of it's historicr fame.  Sometimes it's really funny other times its just a waste.

I haven't watched it in years, I don't think that it is as consistant as it used to be, either that or my tastes in comedy have really changed.

I only watched maybe 2-3 times since the mid 80's after Eddie left and I personally don't think it will ever be the same.....but hey what do I know it's still on....and they haven't invited me to co-host it....peace zane

Tony,

I gave up on this show years ago.  After the original cast started leaving I don't think it was every as good.

What original cast? The show has never had an original cast unless you count the first 1975 season and even the 1976 cast was different. Aside from that the show has always changed but the format is the same. Its always been hit and miss. Go back to the original shows and some skits are very far from being funny even with the legends like Steve Martin or Belushi or whoever... they did some really unfunny stuff back then. The show today is sometimes very funny.

Tony, I agree with you that it has lost a good bit of its' original appeal. Sometimes everything must change and perhaps it is time for SNL to make some.
