What are you doing for yor Association?

By
Real Estate Agent with RE/MAX Realty Affiliates

Last year I experienced the most awesome and inspiring experience in my real estate career.  I had the high honor of serving as President of the Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors.  This experience, allowed me the priviledge to travel and meet leaders in our industry all over the country.  Top producers who understand the value in our Associations.  Last year was a challanging market as it still is today.  No matter where I traveled and met with our Leadership there was one commonolity.  Everyone was optimistic and upbeat.  All believed in our industry with a passion.  What a wonderful opportunity I experienced.  I finished my year, not without controversy, but knowing that I never lost signt of what was best for our membership.  Today, and especially in the near future we need to support our Associations more than ever.  We, as an industry are being attacked from all sides.  Banks and insurance companies want to do real estate.  Government entities see us as a means to enforce point of sale governmental requirements,as well as a source of revenue.  The list of issues that local, state and NAR are facing is enormous.  Not to mention that the mainstream media is continually pointing at us as the cause rather than a solution. Fellow Realtors, please support our industry and its integrity and honor by participating in your association.  Also your donations to your local PAC is vital.  Remember, if you are in real estate, politics is your business.  Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.

Bill - Great Post.  As a long time member of my Association, it is incredible how many people claim to be Real Estate Professionals - yet will not invest in their local association.

Keep up the great blogging.

Cheers!!!!!

Wow, thank you for your replies. Obviously real estate is a passion rather than a pastime for others too.

Welcome!  If ever you were to have any questions then feel free to contact us and we'll try to help. Please take a look at our blog. for links to valuable information in our blog that you can use to navigate this extensive network.

The associations regularly have get-togethers and participation is always great. Real estate is a little bit about politics + social networking. But so too is life in general so it's just an extension of that. Interesting first article on the network, we look forward to reading more from you in the upcoming weeks.

We hope you have a great day, All The Best-

Sincerely, ( Active Castellum ( Castellum Realty llc - Lancaster PA Real Estate )

Thanks to all who responded to my first blog.  I have a lot to learn about Active Rain. Is the $19/mo blog worthwhile?
