You Never Know What Your Clients Know. This will be very short; but this little incident shows how much people don't know at times---intelligent people.   Recently I was walking through the house of new listing clients showing them things I would do to get the home ready.  When we went upstairs I immediately saw the carpet had ripples in it; not unusual for old carpet which has stretched over time. When I pointed it out they immediate said they were going to have the carpet replaced to get rid of the wrinkles and did i know a good carpet company.  I immediately asked them why, since the carpet still looked good they were replacing it instead of restretching it? You are not organized.  Everything happens with the blow of a wind.  In fact, you never use a calendar; or, you have a calendar but never open it; so you have a lot of last minute frenzy in our life. You don't take any time off because someone 'might' call with new business. You are a slave to your cell phone. You volunteer at the drop of a hat and overcommit yourself. Success = Sticking to Your Game Plan When I started in real estate, every idea thrown at me looked like the way to financial/business success.  My game plan looked like a crooked trail up a mountain.  Up/down/sideways/backtrack/fall off the side/etc.   It wasn't until I decided to specialize in divorce that I finally discarded all of the bad habits.  In simplicity, here is what I did. Thought hard about my strengths and weaknesses and from there thought about what i would be better at than anyone else, and also thinking about 'what can I do that no one else is doing'.
