Sowell's Furniture is celebrating their 85th year of business in Searcy AR. I visited it today and came away SO impressed. The furniture is lovely and the art work is especially lovely and the cookie was delicious. But the things that were so interesting were historic items as I show a little of here. Their location is 207 W Arch in downtown Searcy. First and second pictures show the antique elevator.....still in use! Absolutely amazing and unchanged!
Third picture is upstairs and shows the antique flooring! You can go upstairs and see the ceiling decor that is still there! All the furniture is fantastic......so different … (2 comments)

Coke revisited in Searcy AR I ate a beautiful cookie and felt guilty as I did because it was SO pretty. They were being given to guests who visited the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Open House in downtown Searcy AR on 2/11/2020. In years past the building (owned now by Sowell's Furniture) was an official Coke bottling Company and located at 210 W. Arch. Here's another picture. It was called The Syrup Room. What's a syrup room? Searcy Sleuths needed. The old company has been remodeled and made into offices for rentals but lots of the old building is still highly visible. Sowell's Furniture! What a great old picture and this, believe it or not, is on an advertisng card mailed to my family a few years ago. The card was an invitation to join them in celebrating 65 years in the location at 207 W. Arch in Searcy AR! There was to be a 25% to 65% off sale in the store. The old picture is a treasure and I liked it on the card enough to save it all these years. We are proud to have this store still in operation in downtown Searcy! Sowell's, 207 W Arch, has just gone through an update and the outside looks great. How interesting, however, to see that someone covered up lots of glass. The corner entry to the store remains and note the sidewalk has been made handicapped accessible. It's also … (19 comments)

We usually hate getting mail that is trying to get us to buy something, don't we? Not as much as we hate telemarketers but we usually glance at it and then throw it in the trash. Mail a few days ago, however, caught my eye. There was this fantastic photo of an old truck with Sowell's Home Supply, PHONE 499, Searcy ARK on a large card. One the back the owners of Sowell's was inviting us to Sowell's Furniture to celebrate their 64th year in business.
