cedaredge property: Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO? - 01/25/13 01:11 AM
Foto Friday...Where's Cedaredge, CO? If you live in this wonderful, small mountain town on Colorado's Western Slope, that's an easy question. But today most people are hard pressed to find Cedaredge, CO...even the locals.

I took this picture this morning from about the middle of Cedar Mesa Hill. Normally this is a great spot to overlook the town and surrounding valley, but not today.

cedaredge property: I Just Had To Share These Pictures. Cedaredge, Colorado After The Storm - 01/27/12 09:29 AM
I Just Had To Share These Pictures. Cedaredge, Colorado After The Storm. We got a really wet snow last night, and with that came a lot of fog. The sun was doing it's best to burn off the fog, and it made for some really great photo opportunities this morning.
Cedaredge, Colorado is the 3rd largest community in Delta, County with just under 2000 people. The county has just over 31,000 people. Yes the town is small, but we like it that way. Cedaredge sits at the base of The Grand Mesa which is the world's largest flattop mountain. The community was founded in 1892. Since … (13 comments)

cedaredge property: It's The Perfect Christmas Gift For The Busy REALTOR® ( NOT ), But I Love It Anyway - 01/11/12 02:03 PM
It's The Perfect Christmas Gift For the Busy REALTOR® ( NOT ), But I Love It Anyway. I've posted a few comments about my "perfect" Christmas gift, but have yet to post any pictures. My husband really struggled with what to get me for Christmas and after about ten minutes of serious thought he decided a new puppy was just what his already sleep deprived, and over worked wife, needed.
My daughter took this picture with her phone. The rule in our house is no dogs on the furniture. Now tell me...Who's in trouble for this serious violation?
Bear is the … (26 comments)

cedaredge property: I Just Had To Share This Picture.... - 12/23/11 06:35 PM
I Just Had to Share This Picture...The Christmas packages have arrived in record number today from our out of town family. All of our family is out of town. Unless we travel we have Christmas with just the three of us and friends. Traveling is difficult for us because we have a small farm we own and take care of. My husband, myself and our teenage daughter enjoy Christmas to ourselves and with some close friends.
Today was a record day for UPS and the packages that were delivered to our house. I think our cats are getting a lot of enjoyment and … (29 comments)

cedaredge property: Why Do We Fall Back and Spring Ahead? - 11/04/11 05:48 PM
Why Do We Fall Back and Spring Ahead? Well that is a great question. I decided to find out just why we do this twice a year. In the wee hours of Sunday morning we will be switching from Day Light Savings Time (DST) to Standard Time.
DST was actually started in 1918 but not widely followed. It was left up to local communities on whether or not they wanted to change their clocks back and forward. In 1966 Congress passed the Uniform Time Act which set the start and end dates of Standard Time, but didn't make it mandatory for … (57 comments)

cedaredge property: QR Codes Made Easy and How They Can Apply to You - 10/14/11 06:03 AM
Are QR codes the next big thing, or just a passing fad? I think they are here to stay. What is a QR code? Well QR stands for quick response code. This is a two dimensional code that can be scanned by your smart phone to get more information on a product or service. Bascially the QR Code will do what you program it to do. For real estate applications you could place a QR code on a brochure and have it link to your website for more pictures and information on that property.
The codes looks likes the image to … (20 comments)

cedaredge property: I Never New He Was That Old - 10/11/11 07:54 PM
This was one guy that could charm the sock off you. He was his by his count 65 years old. I would have put him at 45. He was 67. I  would have put him younger because of his great peronality. He had a full head of salt and pepper hair. He cussed regularly, chewed and pissed off other agents in our office, but I loved him, as did every other person that came across him. He always had a smile on his face, and he even charmed my mother in law. RIP, Scott. My friend and co listing agent, Scott Everhart, died last night.

cedaredge property: There's Still Time to Enjoy the Fall Colors in Colorado - 10/08/11 07:04 PM
The snow is starting to fall in our state, but there are places where you can still enjoy the fall colors. Even some of that color mixed with snow. The West Slope of Colorado is traditionally behind the front range with it's seasons. We still have lower elevations with great color and the mountain vista views.
If you have any questions about real estate or the Western Slope of Colorado...I'm your resource. Please feel free to give me a call.

cedaredge property: The Grand Mesa Scenic Byway is One of The Best Ways to Enjoy Fall's Colors - 09/25/11 01:17 PM
There are many variations of the scenic trip over The Grand Mesa, and there are some dirt forest service roads that will lead you off the beaten path...however you choose to go, you can't go wrong. No matter what season it is, the scenery is breath taking. Although during the winter, you might need a snowmobile. Today the fall colors were just beautiful. We did the trip over the top from Cedaredge to Grand Junction, Colorado. The colors are almost prime.
The Grand Mesa boasts several hundred lakes...most of which have trout and the fishing is great. The more remote the lake, … (14 comments)

cedaredge property: Where Else Can You See A Bunch of REALTORS® In Short Pants Breathing Hard??? - 09/24/11 11:26 AM
Confluence Park in Delta, Colorado was a hot spot today for REALTORS® having fun for a good cause. Today was the first annual (hopefully) Charity Challenge 5K. It was sponsored by Land Title to benefit the Delta County Board of REALTORS® Giving Fund. Land Title matched the funds we raised, and I think it came to over $600.00. The money goes into a fund to help out a local family in need. The event was a lot of fun, and about 30 REALTORS® turned out. The park is a great setting for any kind of gathering, and we got to enjoy … (3 comments)

cedaredge property: My Husband Has Come Up With An Innovative Idea to Beat Rising Gas Prices - 08/29/11 03:27 PM
It's a bit difficult to take clients with you to show property, but it's a lot cheaper to maintain than a 3/4 ton pickup. Dan worked on this for two days with a buddy, and they had it up and running by early this afternoon. The frame is from an old outdated 21 speed Gary Fisher mountain bike.
It met all the specs and Dan and Ted attached a motor and gas tank to the old frame. It was so funny to see them motoring around our small mountain town. This "new" bike really got a lot of attention. He has a … (33 comments)

cedaredge property: These Sunflower Pictures Came Out Really Nice, And I Thought I Would Share Them - 08/27/11 10:59 AM
The mountains make a great background for these giant yellow beauties. We planted sunflowers years ago, and I guess now they are here to stay. I wish my parsely and dill would take a lesson from them.

The wind was blowing, so it was difficult to make the flowers stand still, but I managed to get a few nice shots. This is one of the best years we've had with the garden. We are getting more tomatoes than we can eat, and my husband is sharing them with RJs Steakhouse restaurant. He's a chef there and they are making a unique … (16 comments)

cedaredge property: This is Going Around on FaceBook, Parent and Kids Need to Read This - 08/22/11 05:56 AM
It's called compassion. This is making the rounds on FaceBoook, and I wanted to take it one step further. With school starting the timing is perfect, and I'm sure it was planned that way.
Special request to all you kids returning to school in the next few weeks: If you see someone who is struggling to make friends or being bullied because he/she doesn't have many friends or because they are shy or not as pretty or not dressed in the most "in" clothes -- PLEASE step up. Say hi or at least smile at them in the hallway. You never … (7 comments)

cedaredge property: Market Update...Delta County Foreclosures Are At An All Time High - 07/19/11 10:30 AM
And the numbers are expected to continue climbing through this year. As of the beginning of July, Delta County, Colorado posted 118 foreclosures.  Last year 116 were posted over the same time period. That may not sound like a huge increase, but keep in mind the number of foreclosures have been going up every year for the last five years...including this year. There are also less than 37 thousand people in the county.
Delta County Public Trustee, Jim Ventrillo, said there were 265 forclosures last year, with most of them coming in the second half of the year. Ventrillo also says … (3 comments)

cedaredge property: What Does It Mean To You??? Good Or Bad, UnEducated or NOT - 06/26/11 07:29 PM
Some of us go through our careers just doing the minimum amount of education. We do what we have to do to get by and and we are busy people. I understand this to a point. Recently someone has been blogging and asking about what the GRI designation means. What does it mean to consumers? Some know what this means. Some don't. Does having a bunch of letters after your name, make you stand out...maybe. I don't know this for a fact, but what I do know is that I have taken the time to complete a long course to get … (25 comments)
