Saturday's Shots - A Spectacular Charlotte Sunset
We had several great sunsets this week but, I particularly loved this one. A stormy day was coming up so the clouds were dark but, the combination of the dark clouds and the brilliant reflection of the sun behind them was truly breathtaking. Of course, our ONE 'odd' shaped tree always seems to make it to the foreground!
Tonight we had a dark, rainy evening and with no sunset to watch, we enjoyed dinner out and reflected on our past sunsets in pictures.

We are a bit water-logged here in Charlotte but, hey, it's a great thing for our lawns, flowers and gardens! As for sunsets - not so much! We loved this evening's sky and what made it all the better, we were babysitting our sweet Liam tonight. So, we were gifted a double bonus this evening!

Saturday's Shots - Our Resident Blue Heron
I'm fairly certain I've shared about our resident blue heron in the past but, this time, he let me get closer to him than normal and I had to share! He is one graceful, gorgeous bird and is one of a small family of them that lives on our end of the lake.

Speechless Sundays - Sunset after a Day of StormsOur first day of the dreadful Daylight Saving Time was just an ugly day all around...we had storms and it poured nearly all day long. The rain, not only took more of the gorgeous leaves off of the trees, but delayed the painting of our home another day! Did I say dreadful Daylight Saving Time?!!
HOWEVER, the storms brought clouds that finally parted by the end of the day, leading to a spectacular sunset this evening. The sky was such a deep hue that it was even 'reflected' in the grass!

Speechless Sundays - Another Breathtaking SunsetFriday was a bit of a gloomy day - all day long. The sun finally peeked through about 6PM and at 7:30, many of the clouds dissipated, unveiling a perfectly beautiful and unexpected sunset. What a lovely surprise!

Speechless Sundays - Enjoying DST Sunset After Dinner
I just wrapped up a post about Daylight Saving Time and had to share this amazing slow-mo video of our sunset. It felt wonderful to watch it after having already cooked and eaten dinner. I feel like I have my evenings back again!

Wordless Wednesday - Sunset #10
I arrived home this evening, rushing to check texts and emails so Ray and I could go sit by the fire and watch the sunset together. We had a contractor stop by to check something in our crawl space and I was sure we were going to miss tonight's show.
Thankfully, we were able to head out, just in time to capture this jaw-dropping sunset. The reflection in the water really does WOW you!

To be fair, she was probably watching the geese, swimming in front of her! This was the very end of our sunset and it was the perfect ending.
Truth be told, she could care less about the geese or the sunset - she just can't have her humans out on the porch without her!
The color is not good because we had the screened porch lights off with the fire burning but, aren't pictures for the memories anyway?!

Speechless Sundays - Christmas Palette Perfection
Wrapping up the delightful Christmas day we had, we were able to catch an amazing sunset. What a delightful way to end end the day, huh? The palette, filled with blues, grays, pinks and yellows, was turned into a changing sky, painted to perfection. The color combination was incredibly striking, making our hearts fill with awe. This glorious, artful sunset was bestowed upon us on the birthday of our Savior - absolutely impeccable timing.
If only the photo did the actual sunset justice!

We had friends visit this evening for the holidays and to keep social distancing a priority, we sat outside by the fire and watched the sunset together. What a lovely evening - we totally enjoyed exchanging gifts and celebrating 'the 2020 way'...with a sunset on top!

Speechless Sundays - Bluebird of Happiness
We so very rarely see birds at our new home. We used to see them all of the time at our old house so, we definitely miss them here. We have filled the bird feeders and did get a few hummingbirds but, still, not a lot of other birds. When we spotted this beauty, we have renewed faith that perhaps we will see more birds in the spring.
Sure, we love the ducks, geese, egrets and blue herons but, sometimes, it's the little things!

Ray and I are thoroughly enjoying our fall evenings, watching the sunset behind our house. This evening, the colors were simply spectacular! Only our Creator could assemble the masterpieces we've had the privilege of watching. The icing on the cake is sharing in the glory with my best friend!

The search continues (albeit, it's going very slow right now) for that elusive 'perfect' lake lot! While we have built the last 3 of our homes, getting 'almost' exactly what we wanted, finding an older lake house with amazing views is a wee bit more challenging!

After a long day at work and realizing half-way through the day that my website was down and I couldn't reach my webmaster, I realized that when I got in this evening, it was time to say good-bye to my webmaster!

One of my assistants lives at the lake and I'm convinced that she participates in every single event that is held on the lake or anywhere near it!
