The inaugural Goldrush Triathlon  will start and finish on the campus of Charlotte Latin School  and utilize the nationally recognized swim facility, Mecklenburg Aquatics Center (MAC)

Over 100 World War II veterans from the Charlotte Metro area enjoyed a historic flight on Saturday that took them to Washington D.C.  
 
This, the first ever Flight of Honor, left from Charlotte so that these veteranss could experience the World War II Memorial at no cost to any of the veterans.
"It's something that needed to be done in the Charlotte area," Bob Wilson, our Rotary governor of District 7680, said. "We owe so much to these people who are parents and grandparents."

Friday evening I was honored to win tickets to the charity event to benefit drumStrong (DrumsForCures) and the Levine Children's Hospital's cancer research here in Charlotte NC (Thank you Meck-South Rotary for the evening)!  Spirit Square was the venue and the place will just never be the same for me!  There were amazing bands and a 'Not-So-Silent Auction' and lots and lots of food and beverage!  Generosity spilled into the hallways of Spirit Square with donations from across the Carolinas and the world!  There were trips to Tuscany, autographed footballs and photographs, crystal and … (22 comments)
