history: New Mexico Elects lst Woman Governor

On November 2, 2010, ninety-eight years after becoming a State, New Mexico voters elected their first Woman Governor, Susana Martinez. The race, between two women was another first and certain to produce this historic outcome. Yet, there was one more "first" to happen next. It turns out our new Governor is the first Hispanic Woman Governor in all of the United States. Today was a very different day in New Mexico!
