Quincy Center consists of the Quincy Square area, as well as, the Hospital Hill and Presidents Hill areas. Quincy Center is loaded with history. The Hancock Cemetery is located next to City Hall, and is the burial ground for John Hancock, and John Adams and John Quincy Adams were buried there before being moved the Church of The Presidents across the street. North Quincy borders Boston's Dorchester section. There is a T Station in North Quincy with Red Line access to Boston, and easy highway access, making this area very popular with commuters. North Quincy also borders Milton and the Wollaston and Squantum sections of Quincy. Wollaston Beach is actually partly in North Quincy. The South Quincy section borders Braintree. South Quincy has easy access to all major routes, as well as the Quincy Adams T Station with Red Line service to Boston. South Quincy is home to the Crown Colony Office Park, which is the site of a former stone crusher. The new Marriott Hotel was added about 5 years ago. This office park is right off the expressway making for an easy commute. Marina Bay is a waterfront community in the Squantum section of Quincy. This area was the site of one of the first air fields in the world. Dennison Airport, of which Amelia Earhart was one of the developers. The Navy took control to be used as a Naval Airstrip during the war. Merrymount is a community of Quincy located next to the Wollaston section, and borders Adams Shore on the other side. Merrymount was origanally known as Mount Wollaston. Thomas Morton and Captain Wollaston had left the Plymouth Colony with a group of Colonists, and made their way to Merrymount. About a year later, Captain Wollaston and most of the Colonists left the area. Thomas Morton remaind and renamed the area Mare Mount, which later became Merrymount. Mount Wollaston is now the name of Quincy's largest cemetery, located in Merrymount.

Wollaston is between North Quincy and Merrymount and also borders Quincy Center. Wollaston contains the largest beach in the city, aptly named Wollaston Beach, which is actually partly in Wollaston and partly in North Quincy. Wollaston Beach is 2.5 miles in length. There are 2 yacht clubs along the beach making it a very scenic area in the warmer months with all the boats in the water. Wollaston Beach is also well known for it's clam shops. Quincy Point is the area of Quincy bordering Weymouth. Quincy Point was home to the shipyard and was a very active yard during World War II. The shipyard opned in 1885 and closed in the late 1980's. During Worls War II, the shipyard built more ships than any shipyard in the Country. The shipyard at that time was owned By Bethlehem Steel Corp. wholater sold it to General Dynamics.
