If you're one of my blog readers and/or subscribers, and you haven't been "in the loop" for the past week or so, you're probably discovering some problems with the Active Rain system. and unfortunately, you probably can't comment. It's time for me to continue with my first quarter real estate reports for each city in East Volusia County. For the 1st Quarter of 2009 we're comparing New Listings, Total Number of Listings and the Number of Sales for each city. And for some cities I've separated the condo listings and sales from the houses or in one particular city (Daytona Beach Shores) we looked at the totals for each category, then just pulled the condos into a seperate category. Real estate is great in 2008! I've made this my motto for this year, and it's proving to be true for me. On January 3 I wrote my first post with this title. I've adopted this as my personal motto for selling real estate this year. Because whatever our minds believe, we can achieve. And to quote the bible, "Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks". These reports contain data from the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) for the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS®. (The chart below shows the sales history for the month of October, for Daytona Beach.) As of November 16, 2007, there are 1408 active residential MLS listings in the city of Daytona Beach. I just posted the market update and sales history for Port Orange Florida and proceeded to investigate the data for Daytona Beach Shores. I made a strange and interesting discovery. First I'll provide the same basic data I found for Port Orange. For Daytona Beach Shores, as of November 15, 2007, there are currently 692 active real estate listings in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) in the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS®. If you read my last two posts, you heard my frustration with trying to schedule appointments to show condos, when all the keys needed to be picked up in the listing offices, or the listing agents had to accompany the showings. After several hours of scheduling appointments, I was finally able to schedule enough showings for my condo buyers who were only in town for 2 days. Their daughter is going to be attending Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL. We looked at condos in Daytona Beach Shores and Ponce Inlet until 8:00 Friday night.
