technology: Be Careful Whom You Trust: Even Within Your Own Social Network! - 01/05/10 10:56 AM
FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, READ THIS ENTIRE POST BEFORE GETTING AHEAD OF YOURSELF AND TYPING IN ANY URL'S!!!
I literally just got a message a few minutes ago, from one of my long-term Facebook friends, asking if I'd heard about the company I'm about the mention. Bear in mind though... this is ONLY a Facebook (and Twitter) friend! Regardless, it's someone who's been in my friends' list for a long time, and I've interracted with this person on several other forums. He's always seemed like any other person I've run across on the internet.... and yes, I have a lot of … (3 comments)

technology: Blogging Before Active Rain... and NOW. A Short Trip Through Technology Time =) - 10/21/09 03:22 PM
When I first read the topic for the latest blog contest, I was pleased with the idea, since this was something I felt I could write about. But the days ticked by, and I found myself floundering for the creativity to write this post. I contemplated the avenues I've used in my real estate marketing; the many, many hours I've spent blogging, brainstorming, networking and... follow-upping? (lol. Sorry. I couldn't resist adding another "ing" word there), and the many topics I've covered throughout the years. I even scrolled back through the last few years of blog posts and found myself surprised … (10 comments)

technology: Welcome Active Rain Newbies. Now Learn Your Web 2.0 Fast! - 01/12/09 05:52 AM

New to Active Rain? Welcome! We love to see new "sprouts" around here. All it takes is a little (Active) Rain before you bloom and flourish. And this post is for our technologically challenged sprouts. So let's get started right away. In the past week, I think I've read at least 20 blog posts, all by new Rainers who were excited about the "new" experience of social networking. ???? Whoa!  We have some work to do!
If you don't know what Web 2.0 means, may I suggest that you learn ASAP!?  But I'll make this easy for you. You're about … (28 comments)

technology: Real Estate Tools for the Techie or the Not So Techie... The Sony Mylo - 11/01/08 03:37 PM
For all you real estate tech geeks, you might like this. But then, you probably already know about the Sony Mylo®. From what I can see, it looks like the perfect text messaging gadget. The way the keypad is laid out, it looks very easy to use, and keep in contact with your real estate sellers and buyers, and other REALTORS® who want to show your listings. And if it does what it claims it can do, I would be fully on board with the social networking peeps. (I'm only about 50% on board right now... chalk it up to a … (15 comments)

technology: Hold the Phone! Real Estate and Technology - 08/18/08 08:56 AM

My new Smart Phone and the accompanying drama :P (Of course there had to be some drama)
I was just reading a blog post by Carol Culkin about her new Blackberry. She just got her first one, and it sounds like it's her first Smart Phone! O.o  After leaving one of my loooong comments (They're becoming all too common) I decided I should just blog it. So off we go =) Make sure you read Carol's blog about her first Blackberry, and what sounds like her first endeavor with any Smart Phone, Palm Pilot, Pocket PC, PDA or whatever you … (20 comments)

technology: Congratulations to Me. 200,000 points and counting! - 06/09/08 03:58 PM
This is a silly, lighthearted post. My comments today just pushed my points beyond 200,000. And my last post was my 400th. So here are my official stats...

BTW, I found this cool, freeware tool for screen captures like this. Follow the link to get yours. This is one of the most simplistic pieces of software I've ever seen, but it's not like I needed something fancy for a screen shot.

One thing I'd like to point out about my stats. I have way more comments than I do posts. It's a way of paying it forward. We should … (19 comments)

technology: REAL ESTATE VIDEOS vs VIRTUAL TOURS - 04/22/07 04:59 PM
(This blog has been updated. The new information is at Real Estate Videos and Virtual Tours.)
I am admittedly, a You Tube addict. Unfortunately, my addiction so far, has not been business related. But as I've been building my "fun" channel, I've been constantly considering how I could use a real estate channel in a way that would be truly beneficial to my real estate listings. I've seen many real estate channels there, but they get very few subscribers or views, and seem to be operated by novices.
I told my manager several months ago, I see no reason why we can't do … (12 comments)
