main line real estate: Main Line Real Estate and Water-Soaked Basements Advise - 08/31/11 01:30 PM
Main Line Real Estate and Water-Soaked Basements First of all I would like to express my condolences to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this storm. However my favorite pet peeve is the water-soaked basement because they are not covered by insurance. They will not cover ground water, so basically the expense is on you. Besides that let me give some advice to help you on the way to recovery. Try to get a company like Servpro who can lift the carpets and pads and bring in the fans to get this dried out ASAP. Any drywall that has been affected … (0 comments)

You could also use this program to collect gifts for graduation, the arrival of a baby or some other major life event in which people want to give you gifts. The FHA Bridal Registry works like a traditional registry, but is more flexible. The registrants visit their choice of FHA mortgage lenders and … (0 comments)

main line real estate: Main Line Real Estate and the Realtor who gets you there. Divorce and Buying and Selling a Home - 08/09/11 12:50 PM
Did I ever tell you that divorces make up a very large part of our business? So when choosing a Realtor you should find one that has been divorced. Yes, I have been there and survived. Having been through the process I know it is doable, and less traumatic than the divorce. So chin up let’s get started. Choosing the right home for your smaller family minus one is an interesting process because now it is all about you, the children and the various pets or whatever else you might have accumulated. I bought my home because of the dog, it … (0 comments)

main line real estate: Main Line Real Estate, Buying a Home and the Realtor that gets you there. Part 2 - 08/09/11 12:41 PM
Why would anyone want to own a home??? That is the one question when something breaks in my house. It drives me crazy. I swear I will never own again and think about how nice it would be the live in a rental and the just call the supervisor if something broke. But then I would have no control on when it would be fixed!!! Oh sure like I have a lot of control over when a plumber or an electrician will magically appear. We had a rain storm a few days ago and I was worried if the foundation leak … (0 comments)

main line real estate: Main Line Real Estate, Buying a Home and the Realtor that gets you there Part 3 - 08/09/11 12:36 PM
Often after a sale my clients have contacted me to tell me something has broke in their new home and they have thanked me for encouraging them to buy a home warranty or insisting that the seller give a credit during  negotiations towards the purchase. While it is not always possible to predict if a heater will stop functioning it has always been my experience that something will go. It is not because you purchased a lemon, it just that you a bought a home. Even if the previous home owner was fastidious which they are usually not it is best … (0 comments)

The Merion Cricket Club is one of those hiding-in-plain-sight Main Line institutions that most people have heard of but many have never visited. Situated along Montgomery Avenue in Haverford, you've likely driven past it thousands of times.

Founded in 1865, "cricket, the game of English gentlemen, was the cause and the origin of the Club," according to its website. "Lawn tennis gradually supplanted cricket as the Club's chief activity."
The original club was established near the Wynnewood train … (1 comments)
