Main Line Real Estate and Water-Soaked Basements First of all I would like to express my condolences to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this storm. However my favorite pet peeve is the water-soaked basement because they are not covered by insurance. They will not cover ground water, so basically the expense is on you. Besides that let me give some advice to help you on the way to recovery. Try to get a company like Servpro who can lift the carpets and pads and bring in the fans to get this dried out ASAP. As a Top producing Realtor on the Main Line and I feel as Realtors we doing a fabulous job. Despite what all of the new reports say, Lower Merion, Radnor, Haverford, Tredyfferin and Eastown Townships are still the best deal around. Sales are down only 11% from last June. Our Sales average is 95% in relation to the asking price. We live in the Best School Districts in the country. The quality life far surpasses any of the surrounding areas. Why would anyone want to own a home??? That is the one question when something breaks in my house. It drives me crazy. I swear I will never own again and think about how nice it would be the live in a rental and the just call the supervisor if something broke. But then I would have no control on when it would be fixed!!! Oh sure like I have a lot of control over when a plumber or an electrician will magically appear. Often after a sale my clients have contacted me to tell me something has broke in their new home and they have thanked me for encouraging them to buy a home warranty or insisting that the seller give a credit during negotiations towards the purchase. While it is not always possible to predict if a heater will stop functioning it has always been my experience that something will go. The Merion Cricket Club is one of those hiding-in-plain-sight Main Line institutions that most people have heard of but many have never visited. Situated along Montgomery Avenue in Haverford, you've likely driven past it thousands of times.
