beta: Upgrading The Real Estate Video Upload Form - 02/11/08 11:59 AM
We've just upgraded the vidlisting video upload form.
Why? We'd been receiving scattered reports that the geolocation section was failing on occasion for a small group of users. We also closely monitored the results of video uploads on a daily basis (number of visitors that started versus where they ended if they ultimately didnt process a video). More than a few peope were ending where others had reported a problem - time to take action.
We changed the implementation around our video upload forms as a result of our investigation.  You can try the new form as well as get information about our … (0 comments)

beta: How To Get Thousands Of Views And Generate Leads Using Your Own Real Estate Video - 01/19/08 02:25 PM
Ever spent the time to upload a video to a video site and end up with only a few dozen views in the first months?
http://vidlisting.com/ within the past few days surpassed one million real estate videos viewed (over 80% of those views were property videos). Until today, all of the content was filmed exclusively by Vidlisting.
As Chicken Little says, "today is a new day". Vidlisting has just opened the same very effective video distribution system to agents, builders, and professional videographers that film their real estate video content (property videos, podcasts, and interviews).
It is hard to generate leads without prospective buyers watching your … (47 comments)

beta: Video Upload and Conversion: Small Public Beta of Real Estate Video Functionality Available - 12/07/07 08:41 AM
Want to try out our our new video upload and conversion mechanism and help us put a load on our system?
We'll be briefly putting a small part of the functionality online (Upload and conversion mechanism) to see what types of uploaded videos we can and cant convert (we think that we know but we'll see).  To this point, we've only had "known" video types coming from large organizations.
NOTE: these are just two beta servers that will be up for a few days but may come down at any time. Your uploaded content may be deleted at any time as well.
The process is a completely automated … (0 comments)

beta: "Why Are Video Views In Different Languages Counted Separately?" - 08/14/07 11:01 PM
Since starting our consumer real estate beta, this has been a common question for us at http://vidlisting.com/.  Actually, I can say that it has been the most asked question.
How We Have Counted Video Views Up To Now
We had been counting views by the video language rather than by the property.  However, more than a few people have pointed out that a view is a view is a view regardless of language.  Many of our property videos have many thousands of accumulated video views across mutiple languages (yes..property videos!) but our agents are as one corporate beta participant labelled it, "tired of always having to … (0 comments)

beta: Tips To Avoid The Real Estate Video Numbers Shell Game - 08/08/07 06:47 AM
As we continue to talk about the hard numbers around real estate video, the "steak" rather than the "sizzle", we are noticing a goodly number of real estate video sites starting to post more data about their views.
Informational Video Vs. Property Video Data
However, though numbers are a good thing, they can be misconstrued like any data.  Let's assume for a moment that prospective buyers spend time at sites where they can look at properties. If a video site has the majority of their video views skewed towards content that have little to do with selling properties, it's safe to assume that few *buyers* are actually visiting … (4 comments)

beta: Vidlisting.com Real Estate Video Consumer Beta Begins This Friday - 07/31/07 11:10 PM
We have been running the Vidlisting.com corporate beta for a few weeks now.  It was actually more popular than we had anticipated and is still ongoing with a number of new corporate partners. As a result, we had to postpone the consumer beta in order to meet the functionality needs of a number of our corporate partners.
Without further adieu, we'll start the real estate video beta focused on consumer level functionality this Friday. Our objective for the beta is to answer the simple question, "how can sellers or agents that film their own properties quickly get their videos in front of a large diverse … (2 comments)

beta: First Round Of Corporate Real Estate Video Beta Feedback Completed And Implemented - 07/12/07 01:00 AM
We just finished the first round of feedback and fixes based on the public and private real estate video corporate beta tests.  We are close now.
In short, all of an agent's or broker's video content can now be managed and controlled by one line of HTML code that retains the look and feel of your site  (not one line per video that puts a standard player on a page which may not look so good in corporate environments or sites with large numbers of videos). You can see most of the real estate video functionality in action at http://acobir.com (the Panama Real estate association). It's in Spanish but you'll see the video bar in … (0 comments)

beta: Beta Testing, Progress Update, and New Location Availability For Property Videos In English, Spanish, and Portuguese - 07/08/07 10:20 AM
Corporate Functionality
The new http://vidlisting.com real estate video corporate beta testing is going well and is bring real estate videos in multiple languages to a wider spectrum of audience.  There are 4 corporate websites on the beta at this point.  We'll be announcing two more of them this week.  We are also likely adding a few new beta partnership to the growing list this week based on contacts that we have had after seeeing the functionality running on http://acobir.com (in spanish, but you can easily see how easily integrated the pieces are - one line of configurable HTML code takes care of each … (1 comments)

beta: Panama Real Estate Association Implements BienesRaicesVideo.com Real Estate Video Infrastructure To Highlight Member Properties - 07/05/07 11:52 AM
We are pleased to announce that ACOBIR (the Panama Association of Real Estate Agents and Promoters)  is the first announced beta partner to implement the BienesRaicesVideo.com video infrastructure in english, spanish and portuguese. http://BienesRaicesVideo.com is the spanish language sister site to vidlisting.com.  The beta implementation brings a significant real estate video capability to the ACOBIR website without any of the normal bandwidth or management problems associated with video.
The beta implementation for ACOBIR consists of three elements:
- A self updating real estate video bar near the bottom of the home page of http://acobir.com/.  This is one line of HTML code and new ACOBIR member properties will automatically appear as … (1 comments)

beta: Putting Up The Beta Tag Again While Pushing Forward Real Estate Video - 06/17/07 10:06 AM
We have finished a number of exciting changes to our real estate video functionality.  We'll be taking the wraps off of portions of the front end and back end functionality as early as this week or next week on our site.  Certain other individual focused functionality changes will be initially made available only to a small set of end user beta testers that we will be working with. There is also a set of corporate focused functionality changes that will be rolled out to a group of corporate customers.  Note that few of the corporate focused functionality changes will appear on our site(s) at all. We'll point you to … (0 comments)

beta: Real Estate Video Beta Testers Needed - 06/03/07 07:02 PM
What Are We Looking For In A Beta Tester?
We have some functionality ready for private beta testing starting in the next week.
In order to participate, you will need to have property videos, local real estate video interviews, and/or real estate video podcasts available to upload from your location and be willing to provide feedback about the process. Feedback is an essential part of the participation; silent beta testers will not continue with the testing.
What Will Happen To Your Video?
All videos will be converted to the large online video format found at http://vidlisting.com/. Videos will also be posted publically to our network of websites … (5 comments)
