Conch shell blowing at sunset in Kihei Maui - short video Kihei Maui - Every day at sunset the tourists gather on the rooftop of the oceanfront Menehune Shores condo building to watch the sun sink into the sea, and experience the ceremony of blowing the conch shell! So we played tourist the other day and went along with our Canadian visitors to see for ourselves. We walked across South Kihei Road to the endless beach, where others were getting ready to enjoy the sunset. Sure enough, just before the sun hits the water we could hear the conch shells "tuning up". … (15 comments)
