In response to the challenge from Active Rain's Bob Stewart, I had to take a hard look at what I'm doing with my blog. To tell the truth, I don't integrate it into my marketing plans enough, but I need to change how I think, and start using this resource which I have created! Reading some of the other member posts has really been inspirational.
What have I done?

I have a new residential listing in Haiku Maui that's a real winner.
It's a custom 2-story house and detached cottage on 1.66 acres in Peahi Haiku - that's on the north shore out towards the famous surf break knows as JAWS. This gated estate, has mature fruit trees, tropical flowers and so much more, including big ocean views, which is always desirable in the Hawaiian Islands.

I have posted about the Grand Champions vacation condos previously on ActiveRain, but these photos really give a good picture of the buildings. These were taken from the new development of Kai Malu Wailea, (some residential condo homes).
Grand Champions are entry level Wailea vacation condos. Prices are good right now, with some units in the $400,000's - unheard of a few years ago. 20 buildings with a total of 188 apartments are situated on 12.25 acres. This year on Maui we are having a really good mango season. These Haden mangoes are the best... so sweet and juicy.
But beware, some people have a bad reaction to mango sap (allergic contact dermatitis ). The mango skin should be avoided if you are the type who is allergic to poison oak or poison ivy. For some people, coming in contact with the sap will cause an adverse reaction, like blisters or a rash on the mouth and hands. This is caused by a chemical called urushiol, which is found in the oil of mango sap.

The Maui News online published a story yesterday (April 10, 2008) that states Maui real estate sales numbers and prices were holding steady for the first quarter. Condo sales appear to be having the most success. Read the whole story here. The interesting thing about statistics on Maui is that we are a small island, with a small set of statistics (currently there are about 1,200 residential properties in our Maui County MLS system). Today was another beautiful day on Maui - the Kona storm has passed and things are back to normal here on the north shore.
This was the scene at Ho'okipa Beach Park, with the usual smattering of beach-goers, surfers, windsurfers and kite-boarders. Waves were mid size, nothing like the 20-footers we had last week. With the warm water and gentle tradewinds, it was a perfect day for going to the beach.

I stumbled into a new place the other day while my husband was filling his fuel barrels at Maui Oil Company. We were in Kahului Maui, and I didn't want to wait in the truck. I wandered out in the misty rain and peeked my head into the first shop I came to. It's a small shop that's not really very visible, and I don't think they get a lot of walk in traffic.
