Maui B&B FAQ's - What's a Bed and Breakfast on Maui? The County of Maui defines a Bed and Breakfast as a home in which overnight accommodations are provided to guests for compensation, for periods of less than 180 days, in no more than two detached single family dwelling units, one of which is occupied by the owner-proprietor. The owner should be living full time in one of the homes. A B&B is permitted in residential, business, hotel, rural and agricultural zones.
