I sent the following letter to our Provincial Member of Parliament in reference to statements made by our Provincial government while in Barrie on a whirl-wind (make that smoke blowing) tour this fall to try to convince us all that the additional 8% tax on most services in Ontario is something good that we should welcome and look forward to.

dalton mcguinty: Ontario Green Energy Act - 07/28/09 02:45 AM

The Green Energy Act received a third reading at Queens Park this past week. Though the intention being put forth that this initiative is purely in the interest of making homes more environmentally friendly, it would not be the first government initiative that takes from the pockets of consumers and home owners while selling itself as being good for all.
It will certainly impact on the cost of buying real estate in Ontario and put many  thousands more on the far side of qualifying for home ownership in Ontario once it is put in play.
