One of my great joys in the fall is raking leaves. Am I crazy?
While raking I always have this deep sense of the presence of God. Falling leaves remind me of the story of the manna God provided in the desert. Leaves are manna for the earth. The falling leaves are the essential ingredient to the topsoil here in Lexington. These thoughts remind me of these lines from Wendell Berry's poem.
