Artist, Michael Heizer created "Levitated Mass" in 2012. This is a diorite granite and concrete sculpture that is 35 × 456 × 21 2/3 ft. (10.67 × 138.98 × 6.6 m) and weighs 340 tons. Michael does not offer many explanations to the meaning of this sculpture so it's up to you do decipher what it could mean. So when looking at these photos, what type of message if any, do you think Michael is presenting? LACMA Website (9 comments)
During my tip in California, I visited the LACMA in Los Angeles and came across this beautiful piece of art. It made me chuckle a bit inside because the description read as followed, "This is a relief of an eagle-headed god, engaged in a ritual to expel sickness and negative spirits form the house: the figure possibly had the function of purifying anyone entering into the King's living room." Even during those times they had their version of Feng Shui Consultants ;) (5 comments)
