There is something about watching the sun hit the snow runoff water in the morning, to me it looks like lava. The fog just above the water that stays only for a little while to me gives it such an eerie glow. I was out here today ready to take pictures of the salmon as they went up river to spawn. Clackamas County this week has announced a burn ban because we have a week of very unusual high temperatures and very dry weather. These two things combined with very low humidity have been a recipe for wildfires. This burn ban isn’t the normal burn ban either, this also included backyard fire pits and campfires. It was just over 100 years ago that North Plains became North Plains and since that day that rich history and community has always been present. This wonderful community isn’t large, but got its name from Lewis and Clark who called the area the North Tualatin Plains.
The community got a real boost because of the rich farm land and the railroad coming through in the early development of the community. The area around North Plains grew in to large communities, North Plains stayed small and today still has many farms that feed many of the farmer’s markets.

Unfortunately in the last couple weeks we have had some very unusual weather in the form of lightning strikes. The problem is that those strikes have actually hit the ground and have been causing lots of wild fires and closing many highways and burned a lot of homes.
Now, unfortunately we are going to lose a lot of forests and farm land. So, please for those of you driving through are wonderful state, please don’t add to the problem and through burning cigarettes out the window of your car. Oregon has some great fishing, won’t you join us? I love Oregon and one of the great things about Oregon is its great salmon runs it has each year. These fish are big, give a lot of fight once you get them on the line, taste great and are great for you! Now, I have to say the biggest Salmon I’ve ever reeled in was about 40lbs, which is scary when you consider my youngest daughter only weighs in at 39 at age 7. Oh, it is almost here. The signs are out in the fields. I love corn on the cob, to me there is nothing better, but right now buying it for a $1 a cob in the stores isn’t the same. I like it when I go out to the fields grab the cob myself and get to smell the field. I know you said you would invest in real estate in the Portland area when pigs fly, well… This is the time, because pigs are starting to take flight! You see right now you can buy properties on mortgages again at monthly payments that are well below what the current rent would be on those homes. Presently more than a 1/3 of the homes are being bought up by smart investors who are buying these properties for prices that are giving them a monthly income of up to $500 a month! One of the things I love about selling homes is the excitement in the client’s eyes when I hand them the keys to their new home. Their face lights up, there is a sense of pride and excitement. They realize that this home is theirs and they don’t have to worry about a knock on the door from the landlord. Now, this time when I met the clients at their new home to hand them the keys, I didn’t have to wait to see their excitement, I could see it from 3 blocks away.
