pictures: Thank you: I wish you a wonderful week ahead as the sun sets on this one - 10/09/11 12:51 PM

I want to thank all my Activerain friends for just being there on Facebook and Twitter this past week. And I want to wish you all a wonderful week next week as the sunset on this one. I know as long as I keep a smile on my face and God in my heart, there will always be tomorrow.

pictures: Daisy, Daisy, how does your garden grow? - 07/24/11 04:11 PM
Daisy, Daisy, how does your garden grow? Well according to this daisy, the garden is growing pretty darn well. We came across this sea of daisies while on the drive to pick up my daughter at Girl Scout camp and my wife said we had to get pictures. So, a few cuts and scrapes later, I got my pictures and we were back on the road again to pick up my daughter.

pictures: Summer on the farm in Oregon - 07/01/11 02:31 PM
One of the things I remember the most about summer on the farm as a kid was wheat fields. Though I didn’t live on a farm myself, my backyard was next to a lot of farms and I was on those all the time. I would ride horses almost every day during the summer months of my junior high and high school days.
This picture just reminded me of those way too short summer months walking across the wheat field to the barn where I would get the horse and go riding from early morning until late in the evening. Boy, … (18 comments)

pictures: The yellow of spring, what an amazing site - 06/06/11 07:17 PM

Here in Oregon, spring has been a little slow to bloom thanks to all the rain and cold weather we have been having in the Pacific Northwest this winter. But, now that we have had a few days of sun and warmer weather, the flowers are really starting to show their true colors. Yes, it does look like we skipped right over spring and jumped in to summer, but, hey, at least we are finally getting the color we have been waiting for. (My camera was starting to get bored)

pictures: It doesn’t happen to often here, but when it does… My camera will be out! - 06/06/11 07:18 AM

Last night here in the Beaverton, Oregon area, we got something we don’t see very often… Lightning, but we got it last night and I got my camera out as quickly as I could. Set it up outside, headed back inside with the wireless remote, where I would be safe and started to snap away. Turns out it was well worth my time and I got this shot. Please help me come up with a name for it, won’t you?

pictures: Sorry, Starbucks, you just aren’t this beautiful or I would be writing about you now! - 05/01/11 04:59 PM

Starbucks sells coffee, but Coffee Creek in Oregon City, Oregon of South End Rd gives me peace and a chance to bring my camera out. Now, this isn’t a place you can really stop, sit and enjoy the falls, but it does give those who live in the area and drive South End Rd every day something beautiful to look at when going to and from work.

pictures: Finally our first sunny day in 30 days and here is the amazing pictures we got - 04/01/11 06:24 PM
Yes, it finally happened, we have a sunny day here in Beaverton, Oregon, our first real on in 30 days. It is also the latest we have every gotten a sixty degree day. Now, this is the time to go out, get the camera, and take some amazing spring time photos of Beaverton.
But, there is one little problem… Notice the picture below?

What? You don’t? Well that is because despite having a lens cap on, and a UV filter on, my lens still managed to get damaged enough that I had to take the camera in to the shop. … (28 comments)

pictures: There are certainly days I envy you! - 03/25/11 06:30 PM

I love Oregon, but I also love taking pictures of Oregon. But, there is nothing more frustrating that seeing what you think is a great shot and then getting home to see a rain drop right in the middle of the picture. You see, I look at some of my vacation photos and see that beautiful sun and think about here, where the last 24 of 25 days have had rain, and think, boy do I envy you people that are already seeing the early signs of spring.

So, as the global warming trend continues, (JOKING) we are going … (17 comments)

pictures: Ever been on a business trip and miss your spouse? - 02/07/11 01:08 PM

I’ve only been away from my wife once, but I’m not sure a sign like this would have gotten me to stop off and see her. I would have to wonder how they got her 1,400 miles in such a short time, but paying to see her wasn’t going to be in the cards for me that day. You have to love small business and niche marketing. (Oh, wrong kind of honey? My bad… Sorry, that makes more sense when you say it like that)

pictures: When you know you have to come back - 01/17/11 04:14 PM

Sometimes being a photographer means after you see something you know you are going to have to come back and today was one of those times. I was showing a home on the eastside of Portland and when I looked out the window of my car I told myself that, “I need to come back here at night… this would be an awesome shot.”
Well, I couldn’t wait too long and I came back tonight and got the shot. Mainly because I knew this dry weather wasn’t going to be around for long and I thought I better take the … (32 comments)

pictures: Speechless Sundays: Sometimes you are just born a ham, might as well embrace it! - 01/16/11 12:42 PM

As long as my wife and I could remember my youngest has been a ham, a huge ham. Camera on or off, she is ready for a show. We even met a performance group called the “March 4th Marching Band” because of her.
I love these pictures because it just tells us that we better embrace it, because she isn’t going to change for anyone or anything! SAY CHEESE!

pictures: What do these four pictures have in common? If you answered a paycheck, then you would be right! - 11/29/10 05:46 AM

I know we are told not to get to personal because this is business. I still prefer to talk about my family, my friends and my everyday activities, but why? Well, I’m here to make money and by sharing more about me, I’m making friends and the only way to do that is to open up and share more about me and my family.
Well, these four pictures below are all ones that I’ve shared here in the rain and on Facebook and though all are simple little pictures, they still show something of me. You know the saying, “A … (17 comments)

pictures: Did you know your iPhone can help get you robbed? My past clients didn’t until now! - 11/20/10 04:36 PM
Seems when of my past buyers almost got robbed recently and it looks like it maybe all do to their iPhone and their iPhone camera. Now, they were very careful not to ever use FourSquare at home and they never published their address anywhere. The fact is everything they had via mail went to a PO Box at the local post office.

But, what they didn’t realize was every picture they took with their iPhone that the uploaded was Geotagged and gave the exact location of the photo. So, when someone started watching Twitter and saw they were out and … (121 comments)

pictures: Smile it's Halloween - 10/25/10 05:38 AM

There is nothing like kids at Halloween and getting great shots is not difficult because they are so proud to show of their costumes. Here are a few shots I took of some amazingly cute kids at our Halloween party and I can’t wait to post the rest of the pictures, but I do have to say these were my favorites, just because they make me smile and make me wish to be a kid again.

pictures: Making Friends in the Park - 09/05/10 02:55 AM

Sometimes all it takes is a little piece of grass to make a friend. Despite all the grass everywhere in the park, the one being hand feed to you must be the best. I loved this picture as it was just so innocent and pure. This was captured in a local park where this little girl found this bunny that belonged to one of the other kids in the park. The bunny certainly didn’t have a problem making new friends, especially when food was involved.

pictures: Just looking for some pets - 03/24/10 03:47 PM

I saw this guy at one of my buyers home inspections and I couldn't help but get the camera out, because he was so cute. Now, he didn't exactly stay still for pictures, but I did get this one. There were two other dogs and I couldn't get them to stay still even for one picture. (But, it wasn't for a lack of trying)

pictures: My dad taught me something the other day… It isn’t the size of the fish that matters, but how you tell the story. - 03/18/10 09:37 AM
Every fisherman knows that the fish we catch get bigger and bigger every time we tell the story of our day out on the river or the lake. But, how does this apply to real estate? I learned a long time ago that the same little fish can look real big if you take the picture right. So, why can’t that apply to a living room, family room or master bedroom?

This is my dad's prize catch of the day
Well, guess what? It can apply to those. That is what wide angle lenses were made for, or a great home stager. Look at … (69 comments)

pictures: The importance of inspection timelines and why we have earnest money - 10/18/07 01:44 PM
This happened to me a few years ago, but it brings up an important thing to know about inspections, earnest money, and the reason we have earnest money in the first place. This situation involved a newer agent that clearly didn't know what she was doing, and thought she had found her sugar daddy in an investor who moved here from California with a lot of money in his hand from a sale of a property down there.
What his idea was is when ever a property would come on the market, he would put a full price offer on the home, … (9 comments)
