Freedom Fair Returns to Tacoma for July 4th (and more)
Once again, the Tacoma Events Commission (a local non profit) organization has put together an outstanding program for this year's FREEDOM FAIR for July 4th.  It actually has an additional activity on Saturday the 6th, but more on that later.  The booths will be open from about 9 am and most of them will be closed down by 8-8:30 pm, to make more viewing spaces available for the evening aerial display.

Tacoma's First Night comes again Tonight. 
For those who haven't already purchased their admission, price for those over 6 years is $14.00.  If you purchase online, you will get a paper ticket, that can be turned in at several participating locations to get the official First Night Button, which provides access to many events.
Several of the museums downtown are participating today, with free admission (for those with First Night buttons). In addition, there will be many arts related activities (dancing, music, art activities) to watch this evening.

Bates Technical College in Tacoma is the largest public technical college in Washington.  It has been operating since 1940. Bates operates on three campuses and has over 600,000 sq feet under roof for teaching, training, meetings and support processes.
Although full time enrollment is only about 1,500 students, there are normally about 14,000 students who take classes at Bates every year.
Bates has involved the community, but working with about 500 community members (business leaders and workers) who help make sure the training is applicable to the real world.
