panama city: FAQ #8- What can I do to prepare myself before the class? - 05/27/12 10:26 PM
Rowlett Real Estate School will mail you the course book once you have registered online and paid your deposit.  If time permits, read your book ahead of time.  If not, at least read over the summary in each chapter.  This will help you get familiar with what you will be learning.  Answering the questions at the end of each chapter will further enhance your knowledge before class.

panama city: FAQ # 7 - Why take an on-line course? - 05/27/12 10:18 PM
It's really a matter of convenience and quality. Convenience means you can do the courses on your schedule, not somebody else's. Start when you want, work at your own pace, finish when you want...it's all up to you. Convenience also means working where you want....wherever you have access to the internet, it's that easy. Quality means choosing from topics that are interesting and relevant to your work. It also means courses that make it easy for you to learn. If you're taking a prelicense course it means a greater likelihood that you'll pass the state exam on the first attempt.

panama city: FAQ # 6 - How do I get credit for an online course completion? - 05/27/12 10:07 PM
Course credits are submitted electronically by the school with the DBPR. Once all course requirements are completed, you will be issued a Course Completion Certificate (or in some states your course completion will be directly reported to your state and no actual hard-copy certificate will be issued).  If you are to receive a Course Completion Certificate, it will be mailed to you via the U.S. Mail and placed in the mail within 3-5 business days after you have satisfied all course requirements.   … (1 comments)

panama city: FAQ #4 - What must I do after I complete an online course? - 05/27/12 10:04 PM
In order to get credit for completing the course, you must complete all the lessons in the course and fax or mail in your "Student Affidavit" attesting to the fact that you personally completed the course yourself.
In addition, some courses require a final exam. When you see the course selection list, it will indicate whether a final exam is required for a given course.

panama city: FAQ #3 - Can more than one person take the online course at the same time? - 05/27/12 10:02 PM
Can more than one person take a course at the same time? No they can not. The course software requires active participation throughout the course and is designed for a single user. Only the student who has enrolled in and paid for the course can receive credit for it. It's just like a classroom course, everyone must enroll separately and do the work.

panama city: FAQ #2 - How long does it take to complete an online course? - 05/27/12 09:56 PM
We have students call and quite oftern they will ask how long will it take for them to complete an online course. Each hour of approved credit will take approximately one hour of computer time to complete. For example, a 6-hour continuing education course will take approximately 6 hours to complete; a 75-hour prelicense course will take approximately 75 hours to complete. The online course does not allow you to just zip through it.  It is timed throughout and will not proceed until the time has been put into the course. … (1 comments)

panama city: FAQ #1- How Does the on-line course work? - 05/27/12 09:54 PM
How does a course work?
Each course is divided into lessons that take about 20-30 minutes on the average. Each lesson consists of text with multiple choice questions mixed in. The text is presented one small, easy-to-understand sentence or paragraph at a time. After a few screens of text, you will answer a few questions about what you have read. As you progress through the lesson, the learning process keeps track of how you are doing on the questions. After all the text is presented, the computer will go back to the questions you missed or had problems with and review them in random … (0 comments)

panama city: Timely Depositing Escrow Funds - 03/18/12 01:25 AM
Florida real estate license law mandates the time frame for depositing escrow funds. Sales associates who receive a binder deposit from a customer or a principal must deliver it to their broker-employer immediately, which means no later than the end of the next business day. When a sales associate or an employee (such as a receptionist) of the brokerage company accepts funds on behalf of the brokerage company, the broker is accountable for those funds. Therefore, it is extremely important that brokers train their personnel regarding the importance of turning over all earnest money in a timely manner.
Brokers must place … (1 comments)

panama city: Commingling Funds - 03/18/12 01:16 AM
Escrow funds cannot be commingled with the broker's personal funds or operating funds. Commingling funds is the illegal practice of mixing a buyer's, seller's, tenant's, or landlord's funds with the broker's own money or of mixing escrow money with the broker's personal or brokerage funds.
An escrow account, therefore, is associated with the type of monies held in the account. What makes an account an escrow account is that the account is used to hold funds belonging to anyone other than the broker.
It is not mandatory to include the word escrow or trust in the account name. However, it … (3 comments)

panama city: Earnest Money Deposits - 03/18/12 01:08 AM
When a broker or sales associate receives any item of value from a customer or principal regarding a real estate transaction, the broker must deposit the item in an escrow account. An escrow account is an account for the deposit of money a disinterested third party (for example, the broker) holds in trust for others; hence the term trust funds. Escrow accounts hold other people's monies. Escrow accounts are also referred to as trust accounts. Trust funds include cash, checks, and money orders and items that can be converted into cash, such as deeds and personal property. In addition to earnest … (0 comments)
