Mary you have a gift for taking very good pictures. By the way you came up with a very good title for this blog. Have a great Memorial Day Weekend. Great post.
Hi Debra, This little bird was a poser for sure! I think the purple martins would be beautiful... I will have to look them up, like you I'm not sure if they are in Colorado. Any bird that eats tons of mosquitos - is a great bird to have around. Thanks for your comments today, I'll be off to check out the purple martins!
Hi Lanre, Thank you! I hope you have a great Memorial Day Weekend as well! I'm glad you liked the title of the post, Lanre and I appreciate you stopping by today! Take care, and enjoy your day!
LOL, your responses to the comments are as amusing as the comments! I missed the (and me too), thanks for clearing that up! Loved the "huge honkin' noses" response to Gail, too! Great to meet you at RE bar Camp on Friday, looking forward to see what people post about it...
Mary -
What a great shot! Beautiful details and it does look just like a postcard.
Hi Cheryl, It was so nice to meet you at REBar camp too! I can't believe I didn't even get a rise out of Gail about the big noses!! LOL Thanks for coming by Cheryl --Have a wonderful week - catch you later :-)
Hi Jackie! Thank you so much! It's nice of you stop by and I appreciate your thoughts tonight! Hope you have a great week ahead!
Hi Mary! A lot of people here put up special purple martin houses to try to encourage them to stay close by. Do you have them?
Hi Debra, We don't have the apartment style bird house, that they like...but I think they are supposed to be in the Rocky Mountains..so I will have to keep my eyes open. I read they like Aspens groves, so I will look for them there. Have a great week Debra!!
Mary - What a crisp, sharp picture of delightful subject matter. Love the color of the bird against its surroundings.
Hi Myrl, I appeciate that! I thought he was so colorful and pretty. I'm glad you liked it, thanks Myrl.
The bird looks almost staged! Thanks for sharing that you caught this great sight! ENJOY!
What a beautiful shot! I love the way the light is bouncing off the pine needles, and the top of the bird's head.
Hi Eileen, Thank you for comments and for coming by! I was amazed that he did not fly away! I think he wanted his picture on the Interet LOL!!
Hi Lisa, They were back lit by the morning sun, thank you for your kind comments tonight!
Great title and photo! Yes, His eye is on us!! This would make a nice card. (Someone mentioned that) A little snow and it would be a great Christmas card, too.
Thank you Doreen, Maybe I could get someone to photoshop some snow in there for Christmas - that's a fabulous idea! I appreciate your thoughts! Hope you have a great week!
Great photo Mary - Such a vibrant color on this bird. Love wildlife and nature shots. Thanks for sharing this one.
Hi Sharon & Greg, Thank you so much for stopping to comment on my little bird! I thought he was a stunner! I appreciate your thoughts tonight. Have a great week!
So, that's a Sparrow..I have seen them..I always thought they were blue birds..(or is that the same thing)
Hi Konnie, quite unintentionally I confused everyone with this title. The bird in the picture is actually a tree swallow, at first when I saw his color, I thought he was a bluebird too!
and our sparrows are mostly brown LOL So sorry for the confusion, but there you have it- It's a tree swallow :-) Thanks for coming by, I do appreciate it!
Mary,
That is a great shot, is it a sparrow? I'm very familiar with the song with that title.
It's not a sparrow, Cynthia, it's a tree swallow.. I confused many with the title, but thought His eye would be on the tree swallow, too! I love that song. Thanks you so much for your nice compliment and for stopping by, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.
