Raise your hand if you love being an agent!

By
Real Estate Agent with Hometown Realty

Raise your hand if you love being a Real Estate agent. This has to be one of the most rewarding, time consuming jobs in the world. How many jobs allows you to spend your gas/family time/money on people that you barely know riding around on the weekend showing them 15 homes and then the family decides not to buy anything and wait until next Summer? This happens all the time I know and it comes with the job. The key is to better qualify your leads/prospects. MOTIVATION! Now, the rewarding part is when you have a first time home buyer that is soo anxious to get into a house. They have no credit and you work with them for 6 months to build up their credit. They listen to everything you say by the book because they want a house so bad. The first time home buyers are soo excited to even see the inside of a house for sale! You get them closing costs so that they get money back at closing so they can use it to paint their house when they move in. What a great feeling to help somone achieve a goal in life! Got to love being an agent.

My hand is up and waving.  I absolutely love being a real estate agent.  I also love being an office manager.  I love the look on a new home owner's face, their children's faces when they realize they are getting a new home.  I also love the look on my new agents faces when they get their first sale, and the look on my experienced agents faces when they feel the love of helping someone into a home.  There really is nothing better than being in real estate.

I would think it'd be a blast.  But when I see Realtors (they are not with clients)...they look pretty tuckered out.  Goes with the job I guess.

I LOVE offering Title/Closing services.... 'no' Saturdays :^)

I too love real estate but I sometimes think one has to be a masochist to love this business.  First time buyers are AWESOME...my best experiences are with them...sometimes have to work a little harder getting their credit cleaned up, educating them on the process...but they are always so excited about everything.

First Timers are extremely rewarding - they also listen to their agent (nice plus for them).  Emotionally rewarding for this agent - absolutely!  Also a big adrenaline rush when the deal comes together.

Imo, any agent who is tuckered out is working hard not smart... and forgetting to enjoy the life they are working to have.  Playtime (off-time) should be encouraged - we are not at our best when we're exhausted.

I love being an agent.  I have a first time buyer that is exactly as you described. Excited, eager, cooperative working with his details.  He envisions what he'll do with the little house on the large lot.  Feels good to accomplish this for them.  I love being an agent and this is just my first, very challenging year.  Thank goodness I saw the light, though, and now I'm here.

Yes, I agree. Your enthusiaism will see you through. Listening is a big key, verbally as much as body language. And those pregnant pauses. You ask a simple question and pause, pause, pause. That sends up a flag, too.

Love it and hate it(sometimes), but it is better than anything else out there.

I have both hands raised.  Rewarding and time consuming and I don't see how the dual agents do it.  The best for me is when a client comes to me  looking to rent and when I am able to show them the possibility of buying.  The best feeling in the world.
