I recently read a post from a fellow blogger who wondered whether her posts were good enough to send out, and another, where a recently featured blogger received some undeserved nasty comments...well, that led me to write this in response.
I quit participating in another realtor driven web site blog because there was no mediation and it was a free-for-all for rude, obnoxious posters who often intimidated others by attacking them personally or calling names in order to incite a response! They could have just clicked off!
There is no reason to post flippant, demeaning or offensive remarks on someones blog just because it ‘isn't your style' or you have a differing opinion. Find your own comfort zone among your peer groups and comment and post to your heart's content. Or if your style is to be antagonistic and argumentative, then there are groups out there that are very accommodating. Find them and join them! After all, there are over 5000 groups here on ActiveRain.
When someone takes the time to put something into words and put it out there, it means something to them and that should be respected. My grandfather always said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all!" And to this day, this quote still helps me to refrain from saying what I really would like to say at times! And if you don't like my post or my blog, no comment necessary.
