Today was a bit cold, so on a day like this I love to look at something colorful.  I chose Peonies.

Two years ago when my daughter was getting married the peony was one of the flower she wanted, now I can't even remember what flowers she actually used; I suppose I will have to pull out the albums.

Anyway, I noticed that many brides like the peonies for their wedding centerpieces.  Here are some designed found at DIY.

Peonies are popular because they look like roses but they don't cost as much as roses.

Just wanted to stop by and leave you a nice, warm quilt for those cold winter nights:

Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!

Missy

Thank you.

I think the ants are an important part of that flower.  I was told the ants have something to do with the flower opening up, not sure if this is true.

Sharon Your weather sound like something that I would have been happy with, now anything over 50 is great.

Lottie - Thank you.

Steve I am sure Sharon wants to surprise you now and then.....lol

Jennifer, that is a beautiful flower.  It is easy to see why many brides choose it for their wedding centerpieces.

Hi Jennifer,
Beautiful photo of the flowers.  Our weather is beginning to get colder so the lovely flowers will soon fade away.

Tony and Darcy I had no idea that peonies were such a big hit.

Sharon thank you.

Jim you are right they do somewhat reminds one of roses except bigger and looser.

Lora That is exactly what I wanted.,a bit of spring in November.  I took this shot in the spring time.

George I can see why too.  If using peonies you better make sure you have a good florist or else you could have a mess.

Eric I am sure these grows best in certain area.  Thank you.

Jennifer, We had these growing in our back yard when we lived in Colorado.  You are right they are beautiful.  I don't know that I have seen them here in the Houston area.  I wonder if we are too hot.

Hi Jennifer, These peonies are so realistic, I can practically smell them. Being from back East, I love the subtle smell and how they dress up any landscaping.
