I was blownaway by a double page ad in my local paper.
A well kown real estate organization decided to boast about their great recrutiing results. Almost 1100 agents had joined them in 2009. If the truth be examined they would be sharing that 12 agents per office joined them or about one per month. That is hardly great recruiting performance. But there is more----
they listed every name of every agent aht joined them in 2009. What great prospecting opportunities for the competition. To list the names of every agent that joined a company is to give an open invitation to every competitor to make calls and develop relationships. It is just a bad move to show off in a way that exposes you to the potential of others.
Many in the industry think this particular company has dated itself in many ways and is behind the curve. This ad demonstrates an arrogance that goes beyond business strategy today. How many of these 1100 odd agents are making money the waythey should be due to the coaching they are receiving from the managers listed?
I would have rather seen an ad that sated that our agents earned X on average this year. They don't like those numbers as they look too pitiful. Too many they hire dont produce a thing. When you run an ad like this one, look at the PPP
