To continue the legacy of service and ministry to others, rather than a self-indulgent vacation, make it a day "ON" not a day "OFF"!

In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr, take time today to DO SOMETHING for others today. Ideas:

Pick up trash along the street in your neighborhood. Exercise is a side benefit!
Take a home-cooked meal to a person sick in bed, or someone depressed who doesn't want to get out of bed! While you're there, stay and visit.
Read the Bible to an elderly person in a retirement home. Let them tell you stories about their life.
Serve lunch at your local soup kitchen. Take time to ask folks how they are doing, and listen.
Read the NEW book, "Do Something! Make Your Life Count" by Pastor Miles McPherson (www.MilesMcPherson.com).
Volunteer for a ministry at your church. If you have a specific niche, create a new ministry for that niche. For example: learn sign language so you can reach the deaf folks.
