A stormy day on the San Francisco Peninsula
From here I watched the radar ushering in a coastal storm. Your picture looks much more ominous than expected. I hope that's GoreTex, Lottie, thanks!
Lottie,
A little rain never stopped a boy from having fun. Try getting him to take a bath though.
Rich
Hi Andrew -- hope you like wet; I think you'll miss the majority of the heavy rains. Enjoy your visit!
Dan and Rich, we had a blast getting out in the weather--a treat for us this semi-drought year
You guessed it Kevin - GoreTex indeed. The storm was wild yesterday.
Gita, glad you enjoyed the pictures; I had as much fun as my granddaughter did, although I stayed out of the trees!
That sky looks extremely threatening! The tree looks like a perfect climbing tree just waiting for a little boy to enjoy.
Ooh, this looks so much like here. And I was just trying to warm up and get dry.
I hope those aren't the clouds that are headed our way. We've been getting lots of rain this week in Las Vegas, and no time to get out and play in the trees.
Diane and Irene, the sky was angry on Wednesday--one moment the heaviest rain imaginable, then a brief break. It was fun getting out for a few minutes in between showers
Jane, I think you're having even more rain than we are. Keeping my fingers crossed that there are no landslides--in LA or here
John, maybe the storm will wear itself out here, before it passes over you, but I doubt it. Our weekend weather should be better for our open houses, tours, etc.
Lottie: That is a great looking tree. I didn't like to climb trees as a child, but this one may have changed my mind.
Hi Chris Ann -- that's a California Live Oak, and perfect for climbing, imaginary games, etc. When I was young I'd take my book and favorite snacks, climb up high in the branches of a similar one, stretch out and read for hours--my own private world.
Hi Lottie ~ Amazing sky, gorgeous tree, and adorable granddaughter - what could be better?!
Liz
Steve, climbing and playing in our California Valley Oaks and Live Oaks was a special delight to me; fun to see my granddaughter enjoy it, too.
Liz, thanks for enjoying the photos. We've been enjoying the rain, something only someone from a semi-arid clime can appreciate. Perhaps we won't have mandatory water rationing after all this summer, and can keep our yards watered.
What a cutie, Lottie. I love photos of skies . . . there's always so much drama and mood in them!
Lottie - don't grandchildren help to keep us young and remember delights from our own childhood
Hi Yuno -- glad you enjoyed the snapshots. It was great to pull away from work for a few hours and play in the rain.
Deena, the sky was fantastic that day, alternating between light grey to dark, threatening clouds--which delivered as promised!
Kathy, our Peninsula open spaces, and some of our own yards, are studded with fantastic, beautiful oak trees just ripe for imaginative play.
