I Bought Now I have to Move
Okay, so you went out and you utilized the home buyers tax credit and worked diligently with your Realtor and found the perfect home to move into. MOVE INTO being the two key words that strike fear into hearts of normal people. I mean who do you know who likes to move?
In any event I have put together a list of tips to help make the moving experience just a bit more palatable.
- Be sure you have planned carefully and efficiently. reserve dates, be sure to get supplies early, and get plenty of them.
- You cannot start packing too early, the sooner the better because their is never enough time. Life will always get in the way of what you want to get done regarding your move.
- Be sure to forward all mail, bills, etc. Set up connection dates for utilities satellite TV, gas, elec. Do not forget to set up shut off dates that work with those set up dates.
- Secure essentials such as important documents, medications, credit cards, checkbook, anything that you actually must have and cannot loose in the moving process in a separate suitcase, or gym bag.
Whether you are doing the work yourself or hiring a company these tips will help make the moving process less stressful. It would be shame to loose the excitement of moving into a new home because of a nightmare move.
