William, The Wharf is actually at the top of a ridge and the water for these ponds comes from two wells.

Hi Nancy, these places actually get better with age because of the weathering wood and maturing landscaping.

Myrl, we may live there yet. 20 years ago we lived just down the street, then moved 5 miles away to a single family home. Now as approaching empty nesters...it would be cool to grab one of these places.

Hi Hannah, all of Reston has been beautifully done. No billboards...all housing masked from the road by trees etc. If you want to find a store or gas station it will be tough if you are new to the area. They are all hidden behind treed berms.

Debe...Lake Norman would be my choice! I will be seeing the elder Stemplers tomorrow. Mark says he wants to live on the water in his retirement...sooo maybe Lake Norman in the future for him too!

Steve, this kind of development appeals to me. I like being on the water and people seem really involved in maintaining the area. I checked out the Wharf website...nice that you can add that to the post.
