What a Nail Biter!

By

What a nail biter, this was!!!!  The butterflies in my stomach are finally settling down.  I can say this with pride and happiness, after 49 years, the Chicago Blackhawks have finally brought the Stanley Cup back to Chicago!

The Hawks seemed to have to chase and play catch up with the Flyers even though the Hawks scored the first goal.  The hawks goalie, Niemi was really pushed to the limit.  The puck seemed to be in front of Chicago's net more than on the other end of the ice.  In the 3rd period, the Hawks were finally ahead by one, but not for long.  The Flyers tied it up and sent the game into overtime.  It was four minutes into the overtime when Blackhawk's player, Patrick Kane scored a goal but it was awhile before it was counted.  You see, the puck was hit hard by Kane into the net but went between the net and the cushioning, so the light never went off.  Kane was the only one celebrating on the ice.  The ref's had to check the replay.

Again I watched the game while on Facebook.  I was able to enjoy the game, make comments and have "conversations" about the game with my friends all over the country.  Another fun night improved by the Internet and Facebook.

Congratulations to the city of Chicago, to the Blackhawks and to all the Backhawk fans out there!  This game was definitely a nail biter!

That was a great game and a great series. Once my NY Rangers were eliminated, the Blackhawks became the team I was rooting for. And they did it! Congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks!

Dawn, of course I'm happy the Hawks won.  Still would have liked to see another game.  It was also good to see Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita at the games.

Dawn,

What a nail bitter indeed and what an unusual ending!  I watched the game and I am very happy for all the blackhawks fans.   I just wished the red light would have came on (only Patrick Kane knew that the puck went in for the first few seconds).  The Hawks were the team I was rooting for, once my Montreal Canadiens (aka Habs) were out of the playoffs.
