Today is Google’s 12th Birthday! And despite it being the super power of all things interweb related stop and think for just a moment just how far we’ve come and what we might be without had it not been for Google. Yeah we’re all fans of Gmail, YouTube, Google Voice, Google Reader and on and on. I don’t want this to come off like I am a “Google Tool” but what about the many other things you might not have thought about. Do you like that super cool Android Phone your holding right now? Thank Google for the Android System! By the way – does that phone of yours access Twitter? You can also thank Google (indirectly) for that. Know why? Two words: Pyra Labs Go connect the dots. There’s a thousand other ways Google has impacted your life for the better. Think of all the products really smart people have worked hard to create in hopes they would be bought by Google (that’s a real business model). Even if the product never made to Google’s shelves – it was still created and conceptualized. Happy 12th Birthday Google!
Case in point: Foursquare Did you know it was originally a project called Dodgeball? Google bought it and never really did anything to it. The founder of the concept decided to recreate it (better) and came up with the Foursquare we know today.

Mike- Google is a very active verb in my vocabulary. I am constantly suggesting people "Google" something if they have a question. And, while I had hoped Verizon would get the iPhone, I tired of waiting and have had the DroidX for a few months and so far I love it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Google will rule the world! I like the older image Mike, wow - can't believe it's been 12 years already! I remember when I got my first gmail account - now just about everything I do involves Google in one way or another!

With Googles Chrome browser I don't have to go to google.com to search for things I can just do that directly in url window. What kind of stuff will be able to do when Google turns 20?
