Signs in the "Bone Yard"

By
Real Estate Agent with Phil's Locksmith

Ever wonder where that sign is?

If you put it in the wrong spot, Yuba county/Cal Trans will remove it for you without notification.

I am only referencing the directional signs I have posted and I know, I know, don't post them w/in so may feet of the road as to interfere with they're easements. I specialize and live in the Yuba Foothills where we have 5 acre minimums. It is not always easy to find properties as there are many unmarked/unpaved or gravel roads and not every property is a 5 ac piece. We need our directionals.

BUT.......I JUST WANNA SELL THIS HOUSE!

Anyone run into this? I have had to go to the "Bone Yard" to pick up my signs. Even more fun, the hours you can pick them up. Only on certain days, and only 1/2 hour in the morning, and 1/2 hour in the evening. Wonder if they have any extra flyer boxes while I'm there. Hmmmmmmmmm?

What to do, What to do.

Consider yourself lucky,  here they not only take your sign, they dispose of it, and send you a $150 fine.

No cheapies for me. But they don't care if it's cheap or not. IT'S GONE.

CalTrans doesn't do it here, the city of Temecula does. With pressure from our Association of REALTORS, they have become good at spelling out the rules and for the most part, they're fair. BTW, I used to work at KUBA. Are they still around?

Tom:

Yes they are. Great organization. Thanks for the comments. We just get surprised when the sign is gone. In fact a few other realtors & I have been the watch dogs for each other and made phone calls when things looked different. I thought that they had sold their property and called to congratulate them, but to no avail.......Bone yard again! Hee Hee

Here it seems that the HOA's are out in force on weekend to remove signs that blight their neighborhoods or condo complexes. I've learned.
