What Julie says here sounds so simple, it shouldn't actually need saying. But we can get overwhelmed by negativity at every turn, and we all must make a special effort to start with a positive attitude and not whine about things you truly can't change. Work with the positives.

I have been reading a lot of Blog's on the foreclosure crisis, the short sale pandemic, the financing fallout, the revolving agent door, and the strong negative discourse to the future of housing itself.  After reading many of these posts and news articles I can only think "misery loves company" and maybe that is why I feel such an outsider; because, I carry the philosophy that there is still a lot of upside to the housing market and I have committed to turning my back to the crowd and making my own path to success.

I entered this profession; because, I love the industry as a whole and there will be peaks and valleys -- as with any business.  But, as a leader of my business and being fortunate to be in a profession that provides that spark to keep my passion burning within, I must find ways to build a stronger foot hold in the market by embracing change and making lemonade out of lemons.

The shift that has happened in the housing market has made us all take a step back and re-evaluate our business model. Some of us have shifted into short sale and foreclosure experts, some of us has refined our niche, some of us have increased the emphasis of taking care of our farm, some of us have changed directions entirely and moved from residential to commercial, and some of have morphed into what we are today without a plan and have found our seat naturally by letting the market shape us into the professional we are today.

My point is to stop looking at what is going wrong, what went wrong, why is it still going to go wrong, and what is wrong today and start asking yourself how can I make a positive change and what can I do to help my clients, the housing market, and the real estate profession.  Your actions can have a profound shift to the market -- it all starts with Attitude and if we shifted our attitude a bit it may just push us over to the land of better days.

Bottom Line:  Positive Attitude + Powerful Solutions + Motivation - Whining = Tipping Point

Go make it happen and your are responsible for the success or failure of your business.  Break free from the crowd and soar with the eagles.
