Years ago, while still donning my Communications and Public Speaking cap, I had the privilege of writing a chapter in a compilation book. As a marketing professional, I was asked to deliver some content on Media - how and when to purchase flights, radio vs. in-print costs, apples to apples oranges to oranges etc.
As an Adult Education instructor at Red River College I had just completed writing the curriculum for a course on Media Buying, along with a 100+ page student workbook. This should be a breeze' I figured, noting the Editors has asked for a mere 15 pages of copy. Ten weeks later, bogged down with Writers block, and deadlines looming, I had a new realization. It's one thing to write for a Workbook or manual - as a technical writer - quite the other to be a creative writer, with the intent to interest your reader in the content.
Finally, with 12 hours remaining in the first draft deadline, that all too familiar 'deadline' adrenaline rush kicked in, and Publicity - Pay or Playsprang to life. And as of 12 hours ago, on the eve of another deadline, I attempted to take that chapter, from it's dirt world existence - and launch it into the cyberworld.
Introducing, my first, amaeuture attempt at an eBook. It's not fancy ... but I'm still putting it out there. Any comments, tips, tricks, advice - bring it on! I'm ready!!
