I have to confess, my main reason for purchasing a hybrid wasn't because of the environment, I was looking for ways to save money in this tough economy and my Volvo lease was expiring soon. I observed what other people were driving and noticed there were at least a dozen hybrids in my office parking lot, plus many of the top agents in the area had forsaken their Mercedes in favor of the Prius, and that seal of approval was all I needed! I purchased a Prius about a year ago, and I have to say, it's a great car. I'm saving at least $100 a month in gas and I fill the tank every other week and apart from not having the pickup of a BMW or Volvo, I'm not noticing many other differences. It's a roomy car and clients feel comfortable because it's not flashy or ostentatious. All in all, it's the perfect choice for the urban realtor and it sends the right message in many ways. If you are about to change your car, I would highly recommend that you test drive a hybrid, once you have one, there's no going back to a regular car!
I came so close the last time around to pick up a Prius - opted for the Camry because of the trunk space for signs etc - But boy every time I see a Prius on the road - I wish I had gone the other way - Next time!
Yes, I got close but had mixed feelings about it a few years ago, an ego thing I'm afraid! I'm glad I finally did it though.

Hello Rose - You made a great choice. I wish we had more options like this. I could really use a utility vehicle (truck or van) in my business as a home inspector that has a hybrid option.

Unfortuantely, I do not have a choice. I need a 4 wheel drive vehicle because I cover rural and farm areas. Believe me, I have used the 4 wheel drive a few times getting into the properties.

Rose: I have been driving a Prius for two years now. I love it as well. The trunk room is perfect for signs, the interior has more room than my previous BMW 330I plus we are helping in reducing the American thirst for foreign oil.
