Today's Buyers Will Find What They Want in Hawaii Kai

By
Real Estate Agent with East Oahu Realty

RealtorMag reported this week on a study done by American Lives, a research firm in California, on the 5 Main Traits of Today's Home Buyers.  Based on the findings, I can't think of a better place for buyers to look for a home than Hawaii Kai.

Here are the findings:
1.  They are Young.  Most are under 45 with household incomes of $75,000 or less.  2/3 are married.
2.  They are Frugal.  They want to live a simple lifestyle.
3.  They worry about their Financial Future.  About 70% said the economy is "not very good", and 55% were concerned they might lose their jobs.
4.  They are energy-efficient but don't see themselves as "Green."  About 32% said they would pay more for energy-efficient features.  Only 16% would pay extra for recycled or renewable construction materials.
5.  They view Neighborhood as Important as the Home.  A whopping 95% said they feel community is as important as a home itself.  79% want as much square footage as their money will buy.  69% would consider a smaller home in the right neighborhood.

Why Hawaii Kai?
1.  Our lifestyle built around water enjoyment offers great appeal to younger sportspeople, and the Hawaii traditions strongly emphasize family values.
2.  Hawaii offers a basic lifestyle with fresh produce, no air conditioning (for the most part), no heat, no winter clothes, no shoes...
3.  Hawaii can't change the financial future of the country, but you can live an enviable lifestyle here without much money.
4.  Hawaii is a leader among states in energy-efficient measures building for the future.
5.  I've traveled the world and Hawaii Kai has more of a Sense of Place, a Sense of Community, than any other community or neighborhood I've visited.  It is an oasis on the road east of Honolulu, and offers a lifestyle unique in the Islands.

Come take a look for yourself.  And call or email me for some real estate ideas.  It's pretty obvious I feel very "lucky to live Hawaii Kai."
