Santa Land - A Drive Thru Christmas Light Park in Texas
It has been awhile (5 years) since my family has made the drive to Santa Land, just north of Tyler Texas. It only gets better each time we visit! One of our Christmas Family Traditions that we've experienced through the years (4 generations were represented last night). It's an amazing display of Christmas lights, all viewable from the comfort of your car. Or, in our case, from the back of a truck (new idea this year).
There were butterflies and flowers
(gorgeous Poinsettias too)
Trains, dancing Christmas trees, and sports themes
Of Course, there were stockings, snowmen at play, and Santa's elves hard at work!
Lots of scenes with a Texas theme - including an Oil Derrick, Cowboy Riding a Bucking Bronc, a giant Boot, and even a Texas Twister
But....my favorite section of all is The Reason for the Season! Jesus' life was depicted in thousands of lights from Birth to the Cross....and Beyond! It's not easily visible in the photo, but the crosses were set next to a small pond and the lights reflected off the water beautifully!
There was also an adorable section of "Precious Moments" style Angels. None of the photos I took came out well enough to include.
I hope that your family enjoys the magical trip through Santa Land as much as ours does! It was worth the 2 hour drive from Allen. We stopped in Canton to have an early dinner beforehand as well.
A word to the wise: get there at dusk in order to save a long, long line. At 6:30pm, there were quite a few cars ahead of us.
I end this note with one final thought:
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM TEXAS, YA'LL!
