Austin always knows how to throw a party, and ringing in 2011 wont be any different. From the shows, to the fireworks to the family events, there is something for everyone:
A great list of Austin New Years Eve Shows can be found in this great list, compiled by the Austin American Statesman. Austin favorites such as Jimmy Vaughn and one time Sandra Bullock beau Bob Schneider will help bring in the new year.
First Night Austin, has been replaced this year, by a city hosted event. The city event will take place on auditorium shores. The event will have fireworks, games and be family free, which includes being alcohol free.
What won't be free, I can assure you, is the annual 6th Street celebration. Tens of thousands will gather, for what is always a night of fun, fireworks and the general craziness that 6th Street has always brought to our fair city.
The Seaholm Power Plant Event goes from 9pm-3am and offers a lighting show, main stage dancing, and lounging. It is sure to be a fun time, complete with bands and food.
A more formal event can be found at the Barton Creek New Years Eve Event. Barton Creek is a fantastic venue, and they will no doubt, bring the best in their five course offering and frozen margarita bar.

Above all remember to be safe as you venture out. Sober Ride Austin offers free cabs on New Years Eve
