When Not Making Deals, I'm Making Quilts!

For my Quilting Friends, here are a couple of projects I've recently completed.  The Triple Irish Chain (left), is a baby quilt, made for the son (born yesterday) of another member of The Debbie Reed Team.  Although you can't see them, in each white diamond, a light green sailboat is hand quilted.  The Seminole Christmas quilt is a project I started in a class a few years ago, and completed for myself.  As a quilter, you know that making a project for onesself doesn't happen very often!

Happy New Year to all REALTORS/crafters/artists out there, and Happy Creating!

One of these days I will learn how to make quilts. The ones from my grandma are wearing out!

Nice work Dianne!  Such a "warm" gift, both literally and figuratively.

I used to quilt when my kids were younger.  The last one I made was over ten years ago.  It was a hobby that was handed down in my family.  These quilts are lovely.  It looks as if lots of love went into making those quilts.

Wow, Dianne -- You actually made one for yourself?  Now you can enjoy the quilt rather than always giving it up for others to enjoy.  Great hobby!

Thank-you all for your nice comments.  One thing I like about quilting is that when a project is done, it's done.    I can look at the piece and say, "That was fun!  Now what's next?"  Finishing a quilt is like the feeling of satisfaction one gets when shaking hands all around the table after a successful settlement.  That was fun!  Now who's next?

Good for you, making a quilt to keep. And I really love the baby quilt.

Thanks, Joetta!  I used my Christmas quilt just last night!  (Yes, it's still out, but my tree's still up, too...gotta take care of that this weekend!)  There's nothing like snuggling under a warm quilt on a cold, winter's night.

Just catching up on a few blogs, love your quilts, the chain looks great!  And now that it's the middle of February hope you made some progress on the Christmas tree!  I just took down some of my Christmas themed wall hangings, I like them so much, I leave them up as long as possible.
