Sometimes we get so busy that we don’t take time to relax and enjoy ourselves (at least it happens to me).
This last 30 days or so have been hectic ones, with sick relatives needing attention, out-of-state guests staying with us, three separate late Christmas celebrations in January, and a transaction from hell that 
has hit a dozen or so bumps along the way – some big and some not-so-big. This deal was supposed to close in mid-December, and although all final docs have finally been signed and everything was supposedly approved, funding has now been held up while the lender has suddenly requested better seller signatures on the contract and more documents from the buyer.
Seems like something new every day, and I haven’t even had time to catch up on reading my favorite Active Rain blogs or to post anything.
BUT this weekend one of my Active Rain friends came to town. Nevin Williams gave me a call and we met at the Village Bistro in Fair Oaks for lunch. Although we had never met in person before, after our visit I felt like we were old friends, and I look forward to his next visit to the Sacramento area when we’ve agreed to do this again.
When meeting folks for the first time there is always a question of whether you will have anything to talk about, but that didn’t seem to be an issue with us. We chatted away and had a very enjoyable day. Nevin does a lot of traveling, and since he grew up in the 
Sacramento area, he still has many friends to visit here, and I’d like to think he now has one more!
Meeting fellow Active Rainers is fun, and best of all – it gave me a much-needed break and rescued me from the crazy schedule I’ve been keeping, and it has encouraged me to get back to Active Rain, and to stop now and then and just have a pleasant lunch with a friend. Sounds like a good resolution to me!
