I've admired for years the famous merchandiser for the lovers of quality and good taste, Neiman-Marcus. In fact, I wrote about how I met Stanley Marcus in 1964, and how our subsequent friendship progressed.
Last evening I strolled through Dallas' NorthPark mall, on my way from nowhere in particular to a destination that was also nowhere in particular.
When I got to Neiman's mall entrance, I was taken by a neatly arranged and hung group of children's art pieces displayed in the store's show window.
<<=== Stanley Marcus
The title of the collection was "Master Peace." That provocative title had inspired the children to think about and illustrate their thoughts in collage and paint mediums, mastering peace. Those displayed were winners of a contest that addressed world peace.
Because of the talent of the Neiman's window dressing team, that window was quite at home with others showing off thousand dollar dresses, jewelry, even men's suits.
Make it a point to see the "Master Peace" art hanging in the Neiman-Marcus show window, ajacent to the mall's interior entrance to the store.
The Neiman's team that was left to carry the store's baton when Mr. Marcus passed away, continue doing a fine job of honoring his legend. In this case, my friends Malcom Reuben and Henry Binkowski oversee the NorthPark store.
