Surviving Your SerengetiSurviving You Serengeti 7 Skills to Master Business and Life by Stefan Swanepoel.

Whether there was a challenge or not, that was 42 pages of pure enjoyment! And I'm glad I had the opportunity to be introduced to this book.

After reading the two chapters, I took the quiz.... twice. I even had someone who knows me quite well take it for me, as if they were me. I all three instances the results were the same. I am the enterprising crocodile!

The Enterprising Crocodile's got me!

The Enterprising Crocodile, according to the quiz results, extols the following characteristics:

    * The ability to “think outside the box” when facing difficult problems and developing solutions.
    * A dedication to advancing both yourself and your organization through a clear mission, while fostering a culture that supports and encourages imaginative and creative solutions.
    * The determination to succeed, which also lends itself to another important trait for enterprising individuals: self-confidence.
    * The tendency to spend a lot of time working alone—something that’s paramount to business success. This emphasizes entrepreneurs’ understanding of sacrifice, and how short-term hard work will pay off with long-term rewards.

I am definitely one who can "think outside of the box" as I'm sure, for any of you who follow my blog posts, can attest to.

I have always encouraged imagination and creativity in problem solving.

I have plenty of self confidence in my abilities and a determination to succeed.

Although I love working with people, I do spend a lot of time working alone.

There's one more thing though. I understand the "short term hard work for long time rewards" concept. Work hard now and you won't have to later. I learned this a long time ago, have always believed in it, and it's a trait that I have passed on to my child.

All in all, no matter which animal I would have ended up being, Surviving Your Serengeti is a wonderful read. I'm looking forward to the book's release. Well done Stefan!

Read the 1st two chapters of Surviving Your Serengeti.

Then take the quiz!

Craig, that was a short speech. May be, you can continue after my 'Congratulation' comment. And make sure it is at least 200 words or more.

(Stefan told me that you get the book only if your 'acceptance' comments are at least equivalent to the shortest chapter of the book...lol)

Janet - Why thank you Janet! Much appreciated!

Steven - I'm thinking that crocs aren't indigenous to the central NC region!

Gay - Thank you Gay! I was rather humbled and definitely honored to be featured.

DeeDee - I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the book. The excerpt was definitely a fun read. Enjoy your copy DeeDee!

Craig, I'm a croc too.  Thinking outside the box has helped my team survive these hard times.  We've been confronted with negative attitudes daily, but ended up the top agents for our area this year.

Craig, I just took the test earlier today from the facebook page, and I too, am a croc.  I think I prefer a Gator though as I'm a Florida grad.  It was pretty much dead on I think.  There's certainly nothing wrong with bucking trends and not settling for the status quo.  Have a great night.

Hey, Craig! Who's that croc who has you in its mouth in the graphic? Tell us it ain't so. Another croc could not have gotten to you! Just kidding--it's a very cute "out of the box" graphic. Congratulations on winning the challenge!

Kay - We have to think outside of the box to survive in these tough times and to be ahead of the pack in the good times as well.

Mitch - Maintaining status quo will put you out of business quicker than you can say "Go Gators"!!!

Liz - Thank you Liz! I had some fun putting this one together AND reading the excerpt from the book.

Renee - This is typically not the genre of book that I read. But the excerpt from Surviving Your Serengeti was a good one. I think it's going to be a huge hit.
