Money Saving Tip!

I was listing to Clark Howard on the radio today. One of his money saving tips was to dry your razorblade after shaving. He was told by an engineer who told him that it is not shaving that dulls the blad but water setting on it. Clark gave it a try and noticed that in-fact they did last longer. His last razor lasted him a one year.

I know this sounds super cheep but I bought some last week, I use one that comes with three blades on it. I remember thinking "oh my gosh" when I saw the price.

I think I will give it a try. After all it cost nothing to see if it works or not.

He does have some very unique ideas, that is for sure.

Let us know what you find out. And you are right, the price of a good blade is hard to believe..

This is not the first time Clark has mentioned this.  Even before I heard him talk about this technique I had been doing it with a double edge blade.  Of course, with a beard, I have less surface area to shave.

If you use hot water during the shave and for the final rinse you can minimize oxidation of the blade's edge and it will lasst for months.  The hot blade dries faster with less residual water to provoke rusting of the edge.
